Matt & Kelly || Louisburg, NC Engagement Session

There’s something about that last shoot of the year that’s always so different.  For me they’re almost comforting…they always feel free and relaxed.  Maybe it’s knowing that the end of busy season is finally in sight, but it’s as if I get a new, quick wind in my sails and have just enough gusto to push out one more session before my January break.  For this session, Matt, Kelly, and I met on December 20th.  That’s 5 days before Christmas, y’all!  And we had the best time.  They agreed to meet me at an old mill property outside of Louisburg, NC that’s currently owned by my family.  The mill used to be in Matt’s family, so it was fun to be able to shoot in a spot that held so much history and significance to him.  Matt & Kelly gave me the creative freedom to do whatever I wanted that day, so we simply moved with the environment and the light.  They connected beautifully and were very willing to let me into their personal space so I could photograph that connection.  They’ll get married this year and I’m thrilled to be a part of their journey towards the altar.  Matt & Kelly, you guys are blessed!  I’m grateful for you both.  Enjoy!
